NAPO's temperament is immeasurable,
Dr. Otchere criticized Dr. Prempeh's demeanor, deeming it unfit for the position, especially in light of the current economic hardships confronting the party.
"The NPP's vice-presidential candidate should exhibit composure and decorum to resonate with voters, particularly as the party seeks to overcome the eight-year political hurdle," he commented.
He cited Dr. Prempeh's approach to the dumsor timetable issue as an example of his unsuitability, labeling him as overly reactive.
Furthermore, Dr. Otchere characterized Dr. Prempeh as a divisive figure, referencing his clashes with Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako as further evidence of his unsuitability for the role.
During an appearance on Accra 100.5 FM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, Dr. Otchere responded to reports of Vice President Bawumia nominating Dr. Prempeh as his running mate for President Akufo-Addo. He highlighted potential difficulties Dr. Prempeh may encounter in connecting with Mr. Boasiako's supporters within the party.
Dr. Otchere also expressed concerns about the possible challenges in appealing to the Christian community, given the NPP flagbearer's emphasis on Christian-Muslim dynamics.
He cautioned that the party could face significant hurdles with Dr. Prempeh as the running mate.
